'The Modern...' Now when I was given this task, I had to find the modern in the forest. And when I started to
see my vision of the modern, it started to make me kind of mad. We are the modern, and I feel li
ke we barged in the forest and are trying to control something that should be out of our power.
Even though the Modern can appear as a destructive force that sullies nature (a very romantic view), it can also be seen as an intellectual approach, or a suddenly contrasting of genres. I think of your photos, the "beware of traffic" in the middle of a calm woodland scene is the funniest and the most modern where the genre of romatic nature is ironically contrasted with the non-existent rush hour congestion.
